Francesc de Paula Soler neix a Barcelona d'una coneguda família
catalana d'artistes. Als sis anys inicia els estudis de piano
i als onze els de guitarra obtenint-ne de forma brillant la seva
titulació. Posteriorment amplia coneixements amb els mestres
Andrés Segovia, Narciso Yepes i amb alguns guitarristes
importants de sudamèrica
Ha realitzat enregistraments per a la ràdio i la televisió
de diversos estats d'Europa i dels Estats Units d'Amèrica.
També ha editat diversos CDs per a la firma Mel Bay Publications i és invitat regularment per a formar part com a jurat
en concursos d'alt nivell.
Ha estat distingit el 1988 amb el nomenament de Ciutadà
Honorari de Dallas, Texas, com a reconeixement a la seva vàlua
artística.
La premsa especialitzada l'ha considerat el guitarrista de
més relleu internacional de la nova generació de
guitarristes del nostre país, "Poeta de la Guitarra"
i continuador de l'Escola Catalana de Guitarra de Sors, Tàrrega,
Llobet i Pujol.
Nace en 1949 en el seno de una
conocida familia catalana de artistas. Inicia los estudios de
piano a los seis años y a los once empieza el estudio
de la guitarra y obtiene de forma brillante su titulación.
Posteriormente amplia conocimientos con los maestros Andrés
Segovia, Narciso Yepes y con algunos de los más reconocidos
guitarristas sudamericanos.
Ha realizado grabaciones para diversas radios y televisiones
de Europa y de los Estados Unidos. También ha editado
CDs con la discográfica Mel Bay Publications. Es invitado
regularmente para formar parte como jurado de importantes concursos
de guitarra.
En 1988 fue distinguido con el nombramiento de Ciudadano Honorario
de la Ciudad de Dallas, Texas como reconocimiento a su mérito
artístico.
La prensa especializada le ha considerado el guitarrista de
mayor relieve internacional de la nueva generación de
guitarristas de nuestro país, "Poeta de la Guitarra"
y continuador de la Escuela Catalana de Guitarra de Sors, Tárrega,
Llobet y Pujol.
Born in 1949, in the heart of a Spanish artistic family, Soler
started his musical studies at the age of 6, when he began his
piano studies. At age of 11 he began to study guitar receiving
highest honors. After that he continued his postgraduate work
with Andrés Segovia and also received guitar orientations
from Narciso Yepes and of the most important Latin-American guitarists.
He has broadcasted for several radio & TV stations in
both Europe and the USA, recording his CDs by Mel Bay Publications.
He's invited to be a member of the jury of important guitar competitions.
Among the others he has been the recipient of numerous prizes
and awards, including the nomination of Honorary Citizen of Dallas
(1988) in recognition of his artistic merits.
The international press, regarding his wide international
activity as a performer, the critics calling him "The
Poet of the Guitar"- have hailed Soler as the most notable
name of the new generation of Spanish guitarists, and continuer
of the Catalan Guitar School from Sors, Tàrrega, Llobet
and Pujol.
